 Homemade Brown Oats Bread



Ingredients:

3 cups whole wheat flour

1 cup rolled oats

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 teaspoons instant yeast

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup warm water

1/4 cup olive oil

1/4 cup rolled oats (for topping)

Instructions:


In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, yeast, and salt.

Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8-10 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a towel. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a loaf.

Place the loaf in a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan and sprinkle the remaining rolled oats on top.

Bake the bread for 40-45 minutes, or until it is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.

Note:

You can add more oats or seeds according to your preference.

You can add some honey or maple syrup instead of sugar.

You can use warm milk instead of water
